Why Choose XWA 66kV Power Cable?

XWA combines decades of engineering expertise with highly efficient manufacturing to deliver world-class high-voltage power transmission solutions. Our 66kV cables are distinguished by their rugged construction and high thermal endurance, ensuring stable power delivery even under fluctuating grid loads.

  • Abundant Manufacturing Experience: With over 15 years of dedicated experience in power transmission products and successful exports to over 60 countries, our factory team possesses the deep technical know-how required to handle complex, large-scale high voltage projects.
  • Factory-Direct Competitive Pricing: Because we own the manufacturing facility and optimize our production lines, we eliminate middleman markups. This allows us to offer highly competitive, cost-effective 66kV cable price for major infrastructure bids without ever compromising on material quality or international standards.
  • Exceptional Thermal Endurance: Our XLPE insulation permits a maximum permissible inner conductor temperature of 90°C in continuous use. In the event of a fault, the conductor can safely withstand short-circuit temperatures up to 250°C.
  • Advanced Moisture Protection: Underground environments demand strict waterproofing. XWA 66kV cables feature semi-conducting water blocking tapes , with an optional aluminium foil laminate serving as a highly effective radial water barrier.
  • Customizable Metallic Sheaths: Dynamic and thermal short-circuit stresses vary by project. We can customize your metallic sheath as an extruded lead alloy, an aluminium welded sheath, or a copper wire helix to perfectly match your installation environment.

Applications of XWA 66kV High Voltage Cable

XWA 66kV high tension cables are designed for versatility, capable of being routed through diverse and challenging terrains. They are the optimal choice for:

  • Direct Underground Burial: Engineered to be laid directly in the ground in either trefoil or flat formations, providing safe, out-of-sight power transmission for expanding urban grids.
  • Buried Ducts & Trenches: Highly suited for installation in buried single-way ducts, offering protection in areas with high surface traffic or industrial activity.
  • Open Air & Utility Tunnels: Rated for installation in air, making them ideal for overground routing, connection to overhead lines, or installation within naturally ventilated solar-protected utility tunnels.
  • Renewable Energy Integration: The perfect transmission medium to carry generated power from offshore/onshore wind turbines and large solar arrays directly into regional power stations.

Installation & Support

To maximize the lifespan and safety of your XWA 66kV transmission lines, professional installation and strict adherence to technical guidelines are required:

  • Minimum Bending Radius: strict adherence to the bending radius during dynamic cable laying, ranging from 1.6m to 2.6m depending on the specific conductor and cross-section.
  • Temperature Constraints: The minimum cable temperature during laying must not fall below -10°C for cables with a PE outer sheath; at lower temperatures, cables must be adequately warmed beforehand.
  • System Integration: XWA delivers a complete system supply, ensuring our cables and accessories are type-tested together for flawless integration.

Our XWA cable factory team of technical experts is available to answer your questions, provide custom solutions, and support your project from planning to installation.

    FAQs of XWA 66kV Cable

Can the XWA 66kV cable be used for direct burial?

Yes, our HV underground XLPE cables are engineered for direct underground burial in either trefoil or flat formations. Always factor in the specific soil thermal resistivity of your trench to ensure optimal current-carrying capacity.

Yes. Standard designs feature semi-conducting water-blocking tapes. For extreme wet conditions, we add an aluminium foil laminate to create a complete radial water barrier beneath the durable PE outer sheath.

As a direct manufacturer with over 15 years of experience, we eliminate middleman markups. Our highly optimized production lines allow us to provide factory-direct, cost-effective pricing while strictly maintaining IEC-compliant quality.

66kV cables (72.5kV maximum operating voltage) are typically used for regional sub-transmission. 110kV cables (123kV maximum) carry higher capacities over longer distances, requiring thicker XLPE insulation and larger bending radii.

Yes. To meet your project’s exact short-circuit and environmental demands, we can customize the metallic sheath using an extruded lead alloy, a welded aluminium sheath, or a copper wire helix.
