2XS(فلوريدا)2Y uses a copper conductor with an extruded conductor screen, XLPE insulation and extruded insulation screen. The metallic screen uses copper wires and an equalising tape, with semiconductive water-swelling tape placed around the screen area.

The `(فلوريدا)` part is the key distinction from simpler PE-sheathed HV cable. It indicates a water-blocked design with longitudinal water blocking and a radial barrier formed by an aluminium copolymer laminated tape bonded to the polyethylene sheath.
