APPLICATION
Single-core MV copper power cables are designed for reliable medium-voltage power transmission and distribution in urban, industrial, and infrastructure environments. They are widely used in:
- Urban power grid renovation and expansion projects
- Industrial plant power distribution and substation connections
- Underground cable networks, direct burial, and duct installation
- Renewable energy projects (solar, wind farm grid connection)
- Commercial building and data center power supply
These cables can be directly buried in soil, installed in cable trenches, ducts, or tunnels, with excellent resistance to mechanical stress, chemical corrosion, and environmental aging.
CONSTRUCTION
- Conductor: Annealed Copper (Cu, Class 2/5 stranded)
- Conductor Screen: Semi-conductive extruded layer
- Insulation: Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE)
- Insulation Screen: Semi-conductive extruded layer
- Metal Shield: Copper tape (CuTape) or copper wire shield for short-circuit current path
- Inner Lining: Extruded polymer layer (PE/PVC)
- Armour: Steel Tape Armour (STA) or Single Wire Armour (SWA) for mechanical protection
- Outer Sheath: High-density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) for environmental resistance
- Core Identification: Color-coded conductor and shield layers per IEC standards
CHARACTERISTICS
- Voltage Rating: 6/10kV, 8.7/15(17.5) kV, 12/20(24) kV, 18/30(36) kV (customizable up to 36 kV)
- Temperature Rating:
- Conductor operating: 90°C (continuous)
- Short-circuit: 250°C (max 5 seconds)
- Mechanical Strength: Minimum bending radius ≥ 15–20 × cable outer diameter; suitable for underground installation up to 2m depth
- Corrosion Resistance: HDPE outer sheath resistant to soil chemicals, moisture, and UV exposure
- Electrical Performance: High insulation resistance, low dielectric loss, and stable electrical properties under long-term operation
- Flexibility: Suitable for installation in confined spaces and complex routing
