XWA Submarino Cable

XWA Power Submarine Cable – IEC 60502-4 & IEEE 1580 Certified, high-performance marine power cables designed for offshore wind farms, coastal power transmission, island interconnection, and undersea communication systems.

As a leading manufacturer of submarine MV/HV power cables, XWA Power integrates advanced XLPE/TR-XLPE insulation, anti-corrosion armoring, and waterproof shielding technology to ensure stable operation in harsh marine environments (salt spray, deep-sea pressure, extreme temperatures), with custom solutions for 1kV-500kV voltage ratings, reliable power delivery across long undersea distances, and compliance with global marine environmental protection standards.

MV Submarine Power Cable (Medium Voltage)

Compared to ordinary round ACSR, C-ASCR has a smaller outer diameter, smoother surface, lower wind resistance and corona loss, and is more expensive, making it very suitable for high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage transmission lines with the same conductive cross-section.

HV Submarine Power Cable (High Voltage)

This is the finished product winding/coiling process in the ACSR (aluminum steel-cored stranded wire) production process, which is also one of the final steps in the entire production process.

FAQ - XWA Power Submarine Cables

What standards and voltage ratings do XWA Power Submarine Cables comply with?

XWA Power Submarine Cables fully adhere to МЭК 60502-4 (MV) и МЭК 60840 (HV/EHV)—the global core standards for marine power cables, with optional compliance with IEEE 1580 for North American projects. Our cables cover a wide voltage range from 0.6/1кВ (LV) to 290/500кВ (EHV), including mainstream MV grades (6/10кВ, 12/20кВ, 18/30кВ) and HV/EHV grades (64/110кВ, 127/220кВ, 190/330кВ). All products pass IEC 60811 seawater immersion, salt spray and anti-abrasion type tests, ensuring reliable performance in global marine environments.

XWA Power Submarine Cables are engineered with marine-specific protective structures: water-blocked Class 2 compacted copper conductors, marine-grade XLPE/TR-XLPE insulation, and standard double galvanized steel wire armoring (33 code) for tensile/anti-impact performance. The outermost sheath uses PE 100 marine-grade HDPE (low water absorption ≤0.01%) to resist salt spray, marine biological corrosion and tidal scouring. HV/EHV models add semi-conductive shielding for electric field uniformity, and all cables feature full-length waterproof sealing to prevent seawater ingress—adapting to seabed terrain such as muddy, sandy and shallow rocky seabeds.

XWA Power Submarine Cables are customized for three core marine power transmission scenarios: offshore renewable energy projects (offshore wind farms, floating PV, tidal energy grid connection), coastal & interconnection transmission (island power supply, cross-sea grid linkage, nearshore municipal power distribution), и offshore industrial applications (offshore oil/gas platforms, subsea equipment, coastal port power supply). We also offer fiber optic integrated models (FO) for synchronous power transmission and real-time monitoring, suitable for farshore (>5km) and deep-sea (≤1000m) laying requirements.

Yes, XWA Power offers one-stop customized submarine cable solutions tailored to your project’s unique requirements. Customization options include: marine LSZH flame-retardant sheaths for fire-risk areas (offshore platforms, subsea tunnels), anti-corrosion asphalt-PP rope coating for traditional retrofitting projects, non-magnetic armoring for substation near-sea laying, and integrated fiber optic (FO) units for intelligent monitoring. We also customize conductor cross-sections, armoring types and sheath materials based on project water depth, seabed terrain, transmission distance and grid frequency (50/60Hz) to match global regional marine project needs.

XWA Power is a professional manufacturer with full-process production and testing capabilities for submarine cables. All products are 100% tested before delivery, including partial discharge, hydrostatic pressure, tensile and insulation resistance tests. We provide complete technical documentation (installation guides, material certificates, test reports) and on-site technical support for cable laying and commissioning. Our submarine cables have a 30-year design service life (compliant with IEC marine cable life standards), and we offer long-term after-sales maintenance and spare parts supply to ensure the stable operation of your marine power transmission projects worldwide.
